Our client is highly successful and fast becoming one of the world’s largest land products companies.  They develop and offer real estate investment opportunities to over 35,000 investors worldwide.  The Asian regional office is located in Singapore, serving the operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, China and Japan.  They seek high caliber and energetic professionals for the following positions:

 

Financial Controller

Reporting to the Managing Director, Singapore and dotted line to the EVP Finance, Asia, you will be fully responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the Singapore operations and liaison with other offices in the region. These include preparing financial, management and operational reports, budgeting and forecasting, formulating and improving policies, systems and procedures (internal controls), and reviewing ERP reports.   You will be responsible for the processing of commissions, collection and remittance of mortgage payments and processing of payroll.  While you shall lead and supervise a small team, you may be expected to handle directly some key and sensitive activities such as payroll and dealing with external and internal auditors. 

You should possess a good accountancy degree, preferably a CPA, and have seven to ten years of work experience in a senior role with a progressive organization.  Knowledge of SOX would be a plus.  Timely and accurate reporting is a given in this role but more crucial is your ability to work closely with the top team to enhance the company’s operations in efficiency and profitability. Good business acumen, strong leadership and change management skills are key traits sought.  A hands-on and independent person, you should possess excellent interpersonal skills and fluency in written and oral English.
